A mission statement tells why an entity or effort exists. It has three parts, purpose, program and principle. One, the purpose to accomplish and/or the need, problem, condition it addresses. Two, the program and/or activities employed to achieve the end. Finally, part three, the principles and values that guide the decisions. Define the three points of the statement in a present focus. The 'Why' is the purpose statement. “The mission is to enhance communication within an organization and generate a cohesive wholeness.”
The 'What' is the activity / business statement. “We increase communication and understanding by providing accessible streams of critical information to those who require it.”
The 'How' is the value statement. “We commit to a positive system fostering, individual growth, mutual development, openness, integrity, creativity, cooperation and respect for infinite possibilities.”
