The Pleasure And Pain Of Connections

"Making connections is the source of pleasure and breaking connections is the source of pain."
". . . nature has, in its infinite wisdom, a process where in order for anything to get to a higher level, it has to give up what it had before. It has to break the old bonds and get out of bondage." Dr. George Land

How do these insights play out in my past or present life?

To create what I believe I want I have to let go of where I am now. Now is familiar, new is different. In the past, I have left family, relationships and careers to find the change I needed. The pain was in comparing. Leaving old "support" and comfortable connections means I am alone.
New is often surprising. Getting real to identify if this 'new' works for me. "Do I feel fulfilled?" is a hard question I must ask. Continuing on into the new to find "it" is risky. Having clear goals and plans are critical, as is regular assessments and revisions.
